Restorative Function Licensed Dental Assistant
Katie just couldn’t picture herself an empty-nester after her son and daughter went off to college.
“I need something to take care of, I guess,” Katie says.
Over the years, she’s cared for many animals, including dogs, turtles, bunnies and fish. But her husband insisted a dog wasn’t an option because both of them work a fairly long distance from home.
So she opted for cats — and how she’s got three.
“They’re cute, and they have different personalities,” Katie says. “The little one is a bully to the older ones.”
The youngest is a Tabby cat named Ryder, while the older ones are called Mysti and Maya.
“Mysti has spots and Maya looks like the Sylvester the cartoon character,” Katie says. “Ryder is really spassy, and gets into a lot of mischief.”
Her other hobby is reading, particularly sci-fi books.
“My dad got me into it,” she says. “I just like the stories and adventures.”
There plenty of those at Camp Smile, too.
“Teeth plus kids equals awesome fun,” Katie says.
