General Anesthesia

SLEEP AWAY CAMP (GENERAL ANESTHESIA)

We understand some patients may exhibit increased hesitation and anxiety regarding dental visits and procedures. For patients who are unable to tolerate treatment with nitrous oxide alone and require extensive dental treatment, our pediatric dentists may recommend comprehensive dental treatment under general anesthesia. This enables your child to “take a nap” while our pediatric dentists complete any indicated treatment. Additionally, patients can confidently return to routine preventive care visits with no fears after dental work is completed under general anesthesia.

Camp Smile Pediatric Dentistry works with a dental anesthesiologist to provide safe and comprehensive care when nitrous oxide is contraindicated and for patients whose needs require multiple visits and/or extensive treatment. Currently, we may schedule in-office dental treatment under general anesthesia at our clinic locations in Chaska and Excelsior.

Our pediatric dentists also have privileges at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota and work with other healthcare providers to facilitate treatment for patients with more complex medical histories.
